Abloy, which rose to be Finland's most respected brand this year, moved its Turku office to the Science Park in September. The new space and its location in the heart of everything are receiving praise, and it certainly does not hurt that the company's own products can be seen on the building's doors too.
For Abloy, which manufactures locking and access control systems, space issues became relevant when their Turku office space underwent renovation. The new 115-square-meter office was found on the second floor of PharmaCity.
“We are really satisfied that the space was arranged for us. Finding a space that fits our requirements is not easy, as the group has strict criteria for premises and there were not many suitable options available, but thanks to the flexibility of Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt, we were able to get a space tailored for us,” says Abloy's Sales Director Mika Wanne.
Before the move, the space underwent a renovation where three rooms were removed, a kitchenette was built, and the surfaces were renewed. Currently, six people work in the office, but it can accommodate up to 12 workstations if needed.

As a location, Turku Science Park is good not only logistically but also from a recruitment perspective. We travel a lot in our work, so good transport connections are of primary importance to us. We mainly move around in Turku and the surrounding area, for which the location of the Science Park is excellent. Trips to Tampere and Helsinki are also convenient from here,” says Abloy's regional manager for the Turku area Marko Pietikäinen.
At Abloy, work is done freely both at the office and remotely. What draws Wanne and Pietikäinen to the office is the peace of mind to work and the interim storage of products needed for customer meetings.
“It is nice to visit the office to meet colleagues. And now that there are plenty of lunch options, I have been to many different places for lunch. The best thing about the new space is the location and the flexibility of Turun Teknologiakiinteistöt,” Wanne summarizes.
