Topi Vuori joined Teknologiakiinteistöt for an internship as part of his UAS studies for the spring. Topi is studying to become a Bachelor of Business Administration at LAB University of Applied Sciences, and the internship was the final part of his studies before graduation.
However, the internship did not remain just a "traineeship," as it included real projects, responsibilities, and cooperation with various teams.
Topi was involved in the renewal of Teknologiakiinteistöt's website. He updated the site's content and developed its structure together with the site's developer, Loikka. Topi also participated in the communications and event process support for the SHIFT Business Festival. Topi was involved in daily practical marketing and communications tasks, which made everyday life easier for the whole team.
– Perhaps the biggest lesson was learning to trust my own skills more. I didn't have any previous experience with this kind of work, but after this, I feel much more confident, Topi describes his time as an intern.
During the internship, Teknologiakiinteistöt also underwent change negotiations, so Topi got to see working life from a very authentic perspective.
– From my perspective, things were handled well and openly. The atmosphere remained good the whole time, he continues.
What kind of greetings would you send to students looking for an internship?
– Be flexible and seize even surprising opportunities! Everything doesn't have to go according to the original plan. True learning comes from doing, so be brave and open to new ideas.
